A woman has died after she left a moving vehicle on a highway outside of Winnipeg.

RCMP were called at about 1:10 a.m. on Sunday to Highway 322, near the intersection of Highway 6, in the rural municipality of Rosser.

Police said a 31-year-old woman exited the vehicle while it was travelling on the highway. The release does not state why she may have left, but an RCMP spokesperson said the circumstances do not appear to be suspicious.

She was significantly injured and pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

It happened near the community of Grosse Isle, which is located about 29 kilometres northwest of Winnipeg.

RCMP, along with a forensic collision reconstructionist, are still investigating.
