Winnipeg Mayor Brian Bowman says the city will be partially reopening three libraries on Monday, June 8.
Bowman made the announcement Tuesday during an update on the city’s response to COVID-19 at City Hall.
“The numbers that we’re seeing being released daily from the province of Manitoba are quite remarkable. When you look at the numbers of, and sadly deaths, in other jurisdictions, in other cities, you know Winnipeggers have been doing their part,” he said.
Emergency operations centre manager Jason Shaw says three branches will be initially be reopening for Winnipeggers to pick up items they may have on hold: Millennium Library, Henderson Library and Pembina Trails Library.
More to come.
