The City of Winnipeg is reminding homeowners to keep garbage, yard waste and other flammable materials away from buildings and fences after nine fires overnight.
All are being investigated as suspicious, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service said in a release on Monday.
The first call came in around 2:45 a.m., which was an outdoor fire in the 600 block of McGregor Street.
Over the next six hours, firefighters battled another outdoor fire on the same block, a fire in a vacant house in the 500 block of Selkirk Avenue and garbage on fire in the 400 block of Manitoba Avenue.
Another two outdoor fires and a structure fire were also reported in the 300 Block of Selkirk Avenue, as were outdoor fires in the 400 block of Selkirk Avenue and the 100 block of Salter Street.
The last fire was reported just after 9 a.m., the city said.
