WINNIIPEG — Manitoba Hydro personnel are working to restore natural gas service to Tyndall, northeast of Winnipeg.

Hydro’s Twitter page indicated that about 250 customers lost gas service overnight when a pick up truck crashed into a gas distribution station on Pierson Drive.

The outage forced the closure of Gillis school.

As repairs continue, the school will stay closed all day Friday.

Hydro has also cut electricity to the area as well.

Earlier this morning, Hydro had reported gas was blowing into the atmosphere.
