Three men charged in connection with Christmas Day homicide

Three men are facing second degree murder charges following the Christmas Day homicide of a 26-year-old man.

Police said emergency personnel went to the 400 block of Victor Street around 7:15 a.m. following the report of an injured man.

Tyler Evan Smoke, 26, was taken to hospital with upper body injuries and later died.

The homicide unit investigated and allege Smoke was attacked by a number of people and robbed.

Two men were arrested on Feb. 27, and another on Feb 28.

David Joseph Merasty, 25, Keenan Alexander Tom, 25, and Michael Anthony Caribou, 28, have been charged with second degree murder. They are all in custody.

Caribou is also charged with second degree murder in connection to the death of another man, Jason Peter John James, 40. He was found dead at a home in the 300 block of Pritchard Avenue on September 22, 2018.
