Slo-pitch leagues getting ready for season, waiting for green light from province

There are two words many Winnipeggers are eager to hear, and luckily for them, they should be hearing them soon.

Slo-pitch leagues around town are gearing up to “Play ball!” as they’re anticipating their seasons will be given the thumbs up to begin in the coming weeks.

On Thursday the province released a draft for Phase 2 of the reopening plan, saying organized sports can resume “as long as precautions are taken, such as physical distancing, and enhanced cleaning of equipment and indoor spaces.” The date for the beginning of Phase 2 has yet to be announced.
