Manitoba parents and educators will get more details about what back-to-school will look like in the province at a news conference Thursday afternoon.

Chief Provincial Public Health Officer Dr. Brent Roussin and Education Minister Kelvin Goertzen are set to make an announcement at 1 p.m.

CBC News will live stream the news conference here.

On Wednesday, Premier Brian Pallister hinted at some of the details that may come from Thursday’s announcement, including webinars with Roussin for school administrators and the public and supports for parents choosing to home-school their kids this year.

Many of the province’s school divisions are also waiting to see if certain details make it into Thursday’s announcement, such as whether the government will help schools cover extra costs for things like protective gear needed for the return to schools in September.
