Police block off Ellice and Young as they investigate assault

A man was taken to hospital in unstable condition early Thursday morning after police were called to Ellice Avenue and Young Street to investigate a report of an injured male.

Police were called to the area around 3:20 a.m.

They are now investigating an assault, a police spokesperson said via email. They did not say how the man was injured. 

Officers closed the westbound lanes of Ellice Avenue between Young Street and Furby Street, as well as McMicken Street where it passes through the Ellice Place assisted living building.
