WINNIPEG — The Prairie Mountain Health Region has been placed into the “restricted” level under the province’s new Pandemic Response Plan.

Dr. Brent Roussin, the province’s chief provincial health officer, made the announcement during a press conference Thursday afternoon.

Under the new level, masks are mandatory for indoor public places and gatherings as well as outdoor gatherings, and group sizes in the region are limited to 10 people both indoors and outdoors. Roussin said these new restrictions will take effect on Monday.

This comes as 33 new cases were announced on Thursday. Of the new cases, 17 were announced in the Prairie Mountain Health Region.

This is a developing story. More details to come.
