Streets are blocked and a house in Winnipeg’s Centennial neighbourhood is heavily damaged due to a Friday morning fire.

Fire crews were called out just before 1 a.m. to the 2½-storey home at the corner of McDermot Avenue and Juno Street, near Health Sciences Centre.

There are no injuries but firefighters continue to soak the house from several sides and from an aerial ladder above.

McDermot is closed between Juno and Isabel streets and is expected to be that way for some time.
