Drug bust nets meth and weapons, including samurai sword, in northern community

Six people face charges after RCMP found meth, cash and weapons — including a samurai sword — while searching a northern Manitoba home this weekend.

RCMP dogs and the crime reduction enforcement support team were part of the team that made the bust on Saturday in Gods Lake Narrows, about 550 kilometres northeast of Winnipeg, police said in a news release on Tuesday.

RCMP arrested four men and two women from the area who face charges, including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of weapons for a dangerous purpose and possession of property obtained by crime.

Their investigation continues.
